Social Studies
The 2008-09 school year brings new requirements for Washington State's Social Studies teachers with the new requirement for administering the Classroom-based Assessments. The Social Studies department here at North Central ESD can assist districts and buildings in understanding and administering the CBA's. We have a team of teachers throughout the region who attended the OSPI "Training of Trainers" and are ready to meet your needs. Please see the CBA link for more information.
We are beginning our second year with our federal Teaching American History grant. We currently have thirty-three teachers in the grant from over ten districts. Through our partnership with the American Institute for History Education we are able to bring nationally renowned history professors and master history teachers to work with our grant teachers. The first year proved to be richly rewarding.
