NCW Workers’ Compensation Pool

The NCESD administers the North Central Washington (NCW) Workers’ Compensation Pool, which promotes a safe and healthy work environment, safety programs and encourages return to work in the event of an injury. Claims for the pool are managed through TriStar Risk Management, TPA. The pool is responsible for monitoring medical cost, lost wages, and pension benefits. The NCW Workers’ Comp Pool goal is to promote a safe and healthy work environment.

Program Contacts

Paul Harrison, Managing Director for the NCW Workers’ Compensation Pool, is the liaison between the school districts, the third-party administrator, and employees when a claim occurs. He oversees the daily operation of the pool which includes safety trainings for districts, DOSH required programs, Vector Solutions Trainings, and administering the Hearing Conservation Program. Jenny Payne, Loss Control Specialist, performs school district safety reviews and assessments, manages our Safety Matters newsletter, and is our main contact for safety related questions.

Workers’ Compensation Pool Safety Services

The NCW Workers’ Compensation Pool has been providing Safety Services to member districts since 1984. The Pool is comprised of 29 school districts located in Chelan, Douglas, Grant, and Okanogan Counties. The Pool provides industrial accident insurance coverage for its members. Claims are administered by TRISTAR, a third party administrator, and oversight and support are provided by North Central Educational Service District.

Vector Solutions Online Training

Vector Solutions is an online safety training and tracking system designed specifically for school employees. With courses that address Environmental, Behavioral, Health, School Safety, Human Resources, and Transportation issues, Vector Solutions delivers all of the essential training you need for each employee in your district. The cost of this program is picked up by our North Central Washington Workers’ Compensation Trust for districts in our Educational Service District! Clock Hours can be provided by bundling courses.

NCESD Rolls Out Bicycle Education To First Schools In Region

January 24th, 2024|

As part of the historic Move Ahead Washington transportation bill, passed in March 2022, a school-based bicycle safety education program is rolling out to grades 3-8 Physical Education classes across Washington. NCESD has been selected by the grant provider, Cascade Bicycle Club, as a first-year partner and has already delivered bikes to four schools in North Central Washington.
