Introduction to the Argument-Driven Inquiry Instructional Model for High School Educators
Participants in this workshop will experience ADI through their Earth and Space Science Lab 22: Minimizing Carbon Emissions. In this investigation, participants will design and carry out their own investigation using the CROADS climate policy simulator in order to answer the guiding question “What type of greenhouse gas emission reduction policy will different regions of the world need to adapt to prevent the average global surface temperature of Earth from increasing by 2℃ between now and the year 2100?” This investigation is strongly aligned with Performance Expectations HS-ESS3-1, HS-ESS3-3, and HS-ESS3-5. This investigation also provides students an opportunity to investigate the crosscutting concepts of Systems and System Models and Stability and Change.
