OSPI e-cert Online User Guide:
We apologize if you do not currently see your certificate information on the My Credentials page or if you have technical difficulties submitting an application online. You are still able to enter information to update your educator profile, such as professional development and clock hours, education history and employment history.
Virtual Certificates are now available for educators to print through the E-Certification system. These are Official Washington state certificates. Sample Virtual Certificate
***If you are a Military Spouse or Military Personnel: After you submit your application online through E-Certification please contact our office for expedited review.
***If you do not hold a valid certificate at time of application, fingerprint background check is required. Information regarding the fingerprint process is available online here: http://www.k12.wa.us/ProfPractices/fingerprints
Many applications are used for both renewal and upgrade (next level certificate). If you are trying to upgrade to a professional certificate and have a renewal option, just select that option and indicate you completed the requirements. The system will automatically submit the upgrade application.
Many applications have an “upload documents” step. You may skip if you have no documents to upload, or if you have difficulty uploading, you may mail the documents to our office to be added to your record.
If you are applying for an Emergency Substitute certificate select the option to ‘Apply for your district request here’. If the option is not available contact your employing school district for further instructions
If you are a Washington State program graduate do not submit an application until you see ‘Apply for your college recommendation here’. If you do not see this option contact your institution for further instructions.
