Network Services NewsWelcome Omak and Entiat School Districts. NetServ would like to welcome our newest customers, Omak School District and Entiat School District. During the summer of 2007 both networks had significant upgrades. All servers, switches, routers, and firewalls were upgraded to state-of-the-art technology. They will be running on a Microsoft 2003 platform with Exchange 2003. New! Click >>K-20 Network to see the new K-20 Network site. A Web Cam is now available for all districts to lease. This camera will be installed in your district for special projects like construction, remodel, or other temporary events you want to be visible via the web. Cashmere School District is currently monitoring their new middle school construction site. These images are available to anyone with Internet access. The Educational Technology User Group (ETUG) meets bi-monthly to share strategies and exchange information about hardware and software, classroom resources, network management, video conferencing equipment, and other topics related to educational technology. At each meeting, a vendor is featured (Microsoft, Apple, Compaq, etc.) to help answer questions and disseminate information about new products. ETUG is primarily composed of technology coordinators representing school districts in North Central Washington. Meetings are open to all school district staff that would like to participate. Anyone who would like to attend these meetings is encouraged to contact John Kelly for dates and agenda information. Agenda information will be available on the website as information is formed. NCESD Becomes Chelan PUD Certified
As a Chelan PUD Fiber Optics Certified Provider, NCESD's Network Services department is now able to offer assistance to schools with their internal building connectivity and extending district LAN’s using PUD fiber. Fiber Optics Certified Providers have completed training in all aspects of PUD's fiber business and workflow processes, technologies and operations.
