North Central Educational Service District announces trainings

The North Central Educational Service District has announced three new trainings for teachers in the four-county service district.

The first training, Microsoft Innovative Educator Academy, is scheduled for March 17 from 8:30-3:30. This workshop is designed to share innovative ways the tools available with Microsoft 365 for Educators can transform student learning. Specifically, the training will explore use of OneNote Class Notebooks, Sway, Microsoft Classroom, and Office Mix combined with STEAM curriculum. This workshop will be held at the NCESD Headquarters in Wenatchee.

Hosted in partnership with insight2execution, a Microsoft Global Training Partner, local teacher Shannon Fallon will be leading participants through the hands-on workshop designed to get educators started with digital learning that can minimize workload, personalize learning for students, gamify the classroom, and much more. All participants will receive their MIE badge in the Microsoft Educator Community at the conclusion of the workshop.

The second offering is a half-day workshop focused on Google For Education.

The Level 1 Google Certified Educator workshop is scheduled for June 19 from 1:00-4:00 at the NCESD Headquarters in Wenatchee. Presenter Kristina Wambold will guide participants through the fundamentals of using GAFE (Google Apps for Education) in the classroom.  In this workshop, participating teachers will explore the core areas of G Suite for Education to increase professional learning and leadership, efficiency in the classroom, and student learning and creativity. Several themes in the Level 1 units will be explored, including creating a paperless classroom, educator and student organization of online work, and ways to measure student growth. Additionally, participants will explore creating effective lesson plans, using media, and facilitating online group work within the Google Apps suite and beyond. Completion of this day will prepare attendees to take the Google Certified Educator Level 1 exam. Registration includes a voucher for the Level 1 exam.

It is recommended that interested participants have a basic understanding of Google Apps for Education including Drive, Documents, Sheets, Slides and Chrome.

On June 20, the NCESD is pleased to offer the DigitalBug NCESD Summit featuring Google for Education.

Scheduled from 9:00-4:00 and held at Wenatchee High School, this workshop will focus on topics such as Google Classroom, Chrome, Google Docs, and Google Sheets and features skilled presenters and colleagues who will help attendees learn to make the most of Google’s free products. This workshop is open to all levels- from beginner to advanced.
