Donald Collins from Wenatchee High School has been chosen by the Washington Art Education Association to receive Washington State’s Art Educator of the Year Award. This award is the organization’s most prestigious.

The Board was unanimous in its desire to recognize and honor Don’s work in the field of art education. The annual WAEA awards are their way of recognizing outstanding contributions, promotion and support by individuals to art education in Washington State. Don has been active in his school, community and at the state level, exemplifying and encouraging quality art education in our state.

Don was honored at the WAEA Fall Conference at Cascade High School in the Everett School District on October 14.
