"Bridges to the Future" Teachers Make a Difference Books are Here!
The "Bridges to the Future" Teachers Make a Difference Volume V books have arrived! To order your copy, please contact Eldene Wall at 509.665.2629 or eldenew@ncesd.org. This inspiring book includes stories from students in many of our North Central ESD schools, including scholarship winners Laura Bohoroquez (Brewster), Patricia Limon (Eastmont), Jeanene Russo (Ephrata) and Malea Kerr (Moses Lake). Included are stories by students from Brewster, Cascade, Cashmere, Central WA University, Coulee-Hartline, Eastmont, Ephrata, Mansfield, Manson, Methow Valley, Moses Lake, Okanogan, Orondo, Pateros, Puyallup, Stehekin, Warden, Waterville, and Wenatchee School Districts . Stories from Anna Johnson’s English class at Eastmont Junior High are also part of our book. Other highlights of the book include a foreword and inspiring stories by Mac Bledsoe, speaker, president and founder of “Parenting with Dignity,” and stories by: Ron Scutt, Stehekin teacher and Milken award winner; Tim Lawless, Cascade School District teacher, administrator, Wal-Mart teacher of the year; and Ric Bayless, Mansfield School District teacher and two-time Excellence Award winner. Proceeds from the third Teachers Make a Difference book, published in 2004, funded scholarships for three graduating seniors: Pamela Alvarado from Eastmont School District, Nicole Benoit from Wenatchee School District, and Adeline Estes from Methow Valley School District.
