WASA members were invited to the September 16 kick-off SAC meeting for 2010-2011 and several central office staff attended along with superintendents. Dr. Gene Sharratt brought a message of "hope" to this well attended SAC meeting that met at the Confluence Technology Center. Dr. Rich McBride extended a special welcome to all of the new superintendents, building administrators and staff across the region. He emphasized the ESD's goal of creating highly capable and creative students in both academics and the arts and emphasized that ESD staff are ready to assist, no matter what the role in the district, to make certain schools have the resources and assistance they need to make this an exceptional year for students.
Updates were brought by Dr. Paul Rosier, Executive Director of WASA and Martin Mueller from OSPI. The program also included updates from ESD staff, including Assistant Superintendent Cindy Duncan, Executive Director of Finance Douglas Poole, Associate Executive Director of Technology Pete Phillips and Regional Math Specialist Mary Jane Ross. Rich McBride called attention to teacher grants available through the NCESD Educational Foundation.
