True Pre/Post Evaluation Design

Starting with the 2003-2004 school year, Prevention and Intervention Services Programs across the state adopted a more rigorous pre/post program evaluation design In previous years students served in the program were asked to complete a post services retrospective survey only. Students are now asked to complete a pre service survey by the third time they meet with the Prevention and Intervention Specialist and then follow-up with a post-survey at completion of services. The pre/post program evaluation shows student progress in areas such as 30-day substance use (including alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana), binge drinking, attitudes about school, inter-personal conflicts, and the value of the program to the student.
