The goal of the NCESD Student Support Services Department is to assist local school district personnel to build supportive learning environments through the continuous development of age-appropriate prevention and intervention programs. As the use of substances and involvement with violence have been linked in research to academic failure, our mission is “to provide all students the opportunity to experience academic success while practicing a safe, healthy, and civil lifestyle in order to become productive, secure, and self-sufficient members of their communities.”
