A Wenatchee High School civic engagement project called Project Citizen paved the way to Olympia for an innovative teacher and a group of students. Project Citizen teacher Malia Renner-Singer was named Civic Educator of the Year, and a team of participating seniors was invited to testify in Olympia to the House Committee on the Capital Budget.
