Become certified as a technical specialist in academic and cognitive assessment based on district needs and requirements. This training will provide school districts with qualified professionals to administer assessments. NOTE: This is test administration only, not interpretation, analysis, diagnosis, eligibility or report writing. This will be the responsibility of the district School Psychologist. The training class will be 24 hours of instruction.
There are 6 sessions of 4 hours each for a total of 24 hours.
In the first sessions, the students utilize cognitive assessments to learn the reliability and validity of assessments and proper protocol completion.
The cognitive tests may be the WISC 5, the WAIS 4, the KABC 2 NU, and the CTONI 2. In addition, the students utilize academic assessments in reading, writing, and mathematics. These tests may be the Woodcock-Johnson 4, the WIAT 4, and the KTEA 3. In later sessions behavior assessments, adaptive assessments, and autistic screening tools are reviewed. The tests are the BASC 3, the Vineland 3 and the GARS 2. The work is assessed by visual review, peer review, video recording, written summaries as well as protocol analysis.
The tests taught will be by district decision.
