Overview
In this asynchronous series, participants will engage in: reading, having conversations, and collaborating. Conversations around the structures and practices presented in Peter Liljedahl’s, “Building Thinking Classrooms® in Mathematics Grades K-12” will be discussed during the time together. Although the focus will be on math instruction, the Building Thinking Classrooms® practices are beneficial for all content areas. These practices support teachers in shifting fundamental classroom structures to build a culture rooted in thinking. The first and last sessions of this book study will be community building. Opportunities for reflection will be given to consider connections to your educational system. Key Learning Outcomes: Commitment to our Learning Community: We have built the course around 90 minutes in each content module with 120 minutes engaging in the Welcome and Closure Modules. You can earn 8 clock hours for this Awareness and Understanding Course of the Building Thinking Classroom Book Study.
