Emerging AI technology is rapidly developing. While legitimate businesses and public sector entities worry about trailing behind on human-centered AI ethics policies and governance, threat actor groups move forward unburdened. Alongside the exciting advent of ChatGPT, we’ve learned Microsoft’s $1 billion investment into OpenAI will turn into $10 billion over the next few years. Cybersecurity professionals need to learn how to invest a different commodity–their time–in order to battle cyber criminals who are already making use of AI tools on the Dark Web to carry out acts like malicious code development and the launching of automated campaigns.
