Do you feel caught between doing what you know is best for students and navigating dissent among staff, parents, and your community? Are you unsure of how best to implement guidance from OSPI regarding Washington State Gender Inclusive Schools laws? Interested in fostering spaces of resilience and celebration for LGBTQ+ youth? Ever worry about saying or doing the wrong thing and running afoul of the law or causing a social media nightmare? You are not alone! You will leave this workshop with greater confidence in your understanding of and ability to foster safety and belonging for LGBTQ+ students. You will know what is required under Washington State law and how to uphold your student’s rights. And you will have additional tools for conversations about LGBTQ+ students which can inform and disarm the fearmongering and misinformation that pervades these conversations today.
