North Central Educational Service District announces promotions

The North Central Educational Service District (NCESD) has announced the promotions of two key team members in the Administrative Services department. Trisha Schock has been promoted to Executive Director of Administrative Services and Jason Williams will serve as Assistant Fiscal Director. Both have been with the NCESD since 2014 and will begin their new roles on July 1.

As the Executive Director of Administrative Services, Schock will ensure the fiscal health and stability of the NCESD, and support and guide the fiscal health of the districts within the region while navigating through changing funding levels and methodologies.

In May 2018, she was elected by the Washington State Business Officers as president elect for the WASBO Board (Washington Association of School Business Officials). This three-year-term began this month and will allow for additional training opportunities to support best practices and leadership within NCESD school districts. Schock was also presented with the annual Unsung Hero Award at the organization’s annual conference earlier this year. This honor is presented to individuals within the state for continual, selfless contributions of time and expertise to the success of School Business Officials.

Williams will oversee all NCESD accounting operations including budget preparation, month-end and year-end financial statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and more in his new role of Assistant Fiscal Director. In addition, he will assist school districts with implementation of new funding methodologies, reporting requirements, accounting guidelines and account code structures.

He is a member of the Washington Association of School Business Officials (WASBO), Washington Finance Officers Association (WFOA), Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), the School District Accounting Advisory Committee representing Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA), and holds a Certified School Business Specialist certificate from WASBO.

“By promoting these two outstanding team members, the NCESD is well positioned to serve, support and guide districts in our region with fiscal changes and best practices. Both Trisha and Jason have demonstrated high levels of talent and commitment, and we’re all thrilled to see their growth,” explained Suzanne Reister, Executive Director of Human Resources for the NCESD.
