Nature of Water Power
(Grades 6-8)
Your local PUD and North Central ESD have worked together with the Foundation for Water & Energy education to develp an exciting curriculum for middle schools that is currently being used nationally.  The "Nature of Water Power" program includes teacher guides and student kits which explore the scientific and social links between rivers, hydrologic cycle, generation of electricity, and the environment.  The curriculum was developed with teachers and curriculum specialists, and is aligned with national and state science standards for Washington, Idaho, Oregon and Montana.  A newly designed assessment component has been incorporated into the Nature of Water Power curriculum and is being used in area schools.  Ongoing curriculum training is funded by your local PUD and provided by North Central ESD.
