Math/Science Partnership Grant
North Central ESD, in partnership with Wenatchee Valley College and Central Washington University, has been awarded a three year, $750,000 grant through the Department of Education.  This grant will add to the ongoing efforts of the regional LASER Alliance and Math Leadership Alliance in building a sustainable K-20 school culture that promotes high quality math and science learning and teaching practices for all students, teachers, and administrators in under-served and under-represented school districts.
Participating schools will send teams of teachers and one administrator.  The same team will attend throughout the three years.  A maximum of 48 math teachers and 48 science teachers are allowed in the program.
Summer Institutes 
Partipating schools will attend three annual Summer Institutes.  Each Institute will be followed with three two-day follow-up sessions throughout the school year.  The Institutes will be four days in duration and will focus on:
  • Science and math content
  • Formative assessment process
  • ELL education strategies
Follow-up Sessions in Classrooms
Three two-day follow-up sessions will occur each year at the school of the participating teachers.
Stipend & Sub Reimbursement
Teachers will receive a $700 stipend each year they participate in the Summer Institute.  Sub reimbursements will be available during the Follow-up Sessions.
Clock Hours
A total of 88 clock hours will be available each year of the grant, totaling 264 over three years.  You must be pre-registered through esdWorks to receive clock hours.
